From April 2-6, 2018 I worked with Philadelphia's Mosaic Legend, Isaiah Zagar, creator of Philadelphia's Magic Gardens and over 200 mosaics within the city of Philadelphia. For the week we worked in his Watkins Street Studio, in the Passyunk neighborhood of South Philadelphia, continuing to transform his 2 story warehouse into a mecca of mosaic murals and sculpture installations covering the floors, walls and ceilings. I am mesmerized by Isaiah's work ethic and passion for his artistry. I listened for hours upon hours to some of the most fascinating stories I have ever heard in my life, while he climbed up and down a 12 foot ladder carrying tile, and drawing on the walls. With love and generosity Isaiah opened his studio to me, and shared his life story. What a beautiful experience that I will cherish always.
